DMV: We Used to the Waiting

Why Every Educator Should Applaud That Viral Video of a Teen Going Off on His Teacher.

On Tuesday Duncanville High School sophomore Jeff Bliss went off on his world history teacher, Ms. Phung, and it was all surreptitiously filmed by a classmate who promptly uploaded it onto YouTube. From there it made it to the front page of Reddit, and the rest, as they say, is history.

In 2005, author David Foster Wallace was asked to give the commencement address to the 2005 graduating class of Kenyon College. However, the resulting speech didn’t become widely known until 3 years later, after his tragic death. It is, without a doubt, some of the best life advice we’ve ever come across, and perhaps the most simple and elegant explanation of the real value of education.

Jimmy Kimmel played Skype Scavenger Hunt again before Game 4 of the NBA Finals last night.  If you’re unfamiliar with Skype Scavenger Hunt, basically Jimmy says asks the players to find something in their apartment and the players run off and look for said item.  Last week was Jeremy Lin and Roy Hibbert. This time is Boston Celtics Guard Rajon Rondo and New York Knicks Center Tyson Chandler.

If for no other reason, I wish the Heat lost game 5 so we could get more scavenger hunt.

I’m a little late on this but “Party Down” star Ken Marino directs and stars in this web series that spoofs reality tv shows, the Bachelor and the Bachelorette.  I’ve embedded the first episode, but you can find the rest of them here.  You will definitely recognize the plethora of guest appearances throughout the web episodes. And if you haven’t seen “Party Down,” do it now on a hot summer day.

I can’t wait for the rest of the drama!
